Honeyberry Boreal Beast is a vigorous fruit plant with an upright growing habit. This cultivar produces a generous crop of large, oval-shaped, deep blue-purple berries from early to mid-summer.
The berries have a bold sweet and tart flavour, similar to that of blueberries, and are ideal for making jams, desserts, and smoothies. They freeze well so can be harvested and frozen to use throughout the year. Honeyberry Boreal Beast is a hardy fruit plant with excellent resistance to mildew. It does need another honeyberry plant nearby for pollination and is compatible with Strawberry Sensation and other Boreal cultivars. Honeyberry Boreal Beast is undemanding and easy to care for. It prefers a sunny spot in slightly acidic, moist but well-draining soil and benefits from annual mulching.
