Product description

Lonicera caerulea edulis is a hardy fruit plant which has gained popularity for their sweet edible berries. Boreal Blizzard is a variety that is valued for its productivity and fruit size. It boasts one of the largest, heaviest berries of any honeyberry cultivar and will make a great addition to the fruit plant corner in your garden. Their sweet berries are best enjoyed fresh, frozen or juiced.

Plant in moist, well-drained sandy, loamy or clay soil. As with most fruit and berry plants, the Honeyberry plant does also need a good exposure to sunlight, it does not fruit so well in the shade. Ensure that the soil remains moist but not overly wet, particularly after planting.

Instructions

Top Tip

Honeyberries need cross-pollination for better fruit production, so plant at least two varieties nearby.

How to Water

Water Honeyberries consistently, especially during dry spells. Keep the soil evenly moist but well-drained. Avoid over-watering to prevent root rot. Mulch around the base to retain moisture.

How to Plant

Plant Honeyberries in well-drained, slightly acidic soil with full sun or partial shade. Space plants 60-90cm apart for optimal air circulation and growth. Dig a hole that’s twice the size of the root ball, place the plant, and cover with soil.
