Kniphofia rufa ‘Rasta’ is an unusual take on the more common varieties of Red Hot Pokers with interesting and exotic flowers that bloom on tall, strong stems. The flowers bloom in vibrant, almost glowing, hues of red and lime-green, creating wonderfully tropical Summer displays. This mounded perennial can be used to create great border displays or planted in larger numbers to create drifts of colour.
Plant in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soils and keep in full sun. A low maintenance plant requiring little care once established. May need some protection from harsh Winter frosts.

Deadhead spent flowers to encourage new blooms and cut back foliage in late winter for a tidy appearance and vigorous growth.
How to Water
Water thoroughly after planting, then keep the soil slightly moist during the first growing season. Once established, Kniphofia is drought-tolerant, requiring watering only during prolonged dry periods.
How to Plant
Plant Kniphofia in well-drained soil and a sunny location. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, position the plant, and backfill with soil. Space them about 45-60cm apart for airflow. Add mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
