Product description
Lettuce Baby Leaf Salad is an easy to grow crop that works well in pots and containers but can also be used to fill a bare spot in the vegetable garden.
Baby Leaf Lettuces are smaller than regular lettuces and their leaves are more tender and delicate. Primarily used for salads, Lettuce Baby Leaf can also be used to add texture and flavour to sandwiches, wraps and burgers.
This is a fast growing crop that is ready to harvest around a month after planting. When harvesting, take leaves from the outside of the plant. These will be replaced with new growth from the centre. For maximum freshness, pick the leaves shortly before you want to eat them. They can be stored in the fridge for up to two days but are best enjoyed fresh.
This 8 cell tray is ready to be planted out in beds, borders, pots or containers.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.
