Product description

Also known as Sea Lavender, this compact plant is perfect for growing in pots or planting in borders and flower beds. It prefers a sunny spot in well drained soil so make sure any pots or containers have drainage holes and add some gravel to the bottom of the pot.

Lush green leaves form a base rosette and being semi-evergreen, much of the foliage will remain intact over the winter months. Slim stems bloom from the base, with pillows of tiny purple flowers appearing in early summer and lasting until autumn.

The flowers are loved by pollinators and will attract bees, ladybirds, birds and other wildlife to your garden.

Shortlisted for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year Award 2021.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Instructions

Top Tip

Limonium thrives in coastal conditions, so grow them in sandy or gravelly soil for the best results. Trim spent flowers to encourage reblooming.

How to Water

Water Limonium plants regularly, but ensure the soil drains well. They tolerate dry conditions but perform best with consistent moisture, especially during their first growing season. Avoid overwatering, as they are susceptible to root rot.

How to Plant

Plant Limonium in well-drained soil, in a sunny spot. Space plants 30-45cm apart to allow room for growth. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball, place the plant, and fill with soil. Add mulch to help retain moisture and control weeds.
