Product description

An upright herbaceous perennial shrub with an exotic look thanks to its brightly coloured flower spikes. The Lupin ‘Bishops Tipple’ is vibrant plant with palmately divided, narrow, light green leaves and tall stalks which carry dense flower spikes of apricot-red blooms with the newer cream and green buds appearing near the top. The flowers are mildly scented. An absolutely stunning Summer cultivar which is suitable for adding structure to garden borders.

Plant in moist, well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soils and keep in full or partial sun. Low maintenance and resistant to cold but will dieback in the Winter to regrow the follow Spring.

Instructions

Top Tip

To prevent disease, avoid overhead watering and water at the base of the plant.

How to Water

Lupins need regular watering, especially during dry spells. Keep the soil moist but not soggy, as they don’t tolerate waterlogged roots.

How to Plant

Plant Lupins in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny spot. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the roots and space them about 30-45cm apart. Gently firm the soil around the base and water well after planting.
