From early spring onwards, branches are covered in masses of pure white, lightly scented blooms which are eventually accompanied by green, oblong leaves.
Plant Magnolia loebneri Merrill in moist, well-drained, acidic or neutral soil, in full sun to partial shade. It will benefit from a sheltered position away from cold winds and protection from late frosts. Pruning is best carried out in midsummer when the plant is in full leaf.
