Product description
Mahonia 'Soft Caress' is a bushy evergreen shrub with narrow spine-free leaflets. Once the foliage is established in spring, plentiful spires of delivate yellow flowers begin to bloom in late summer, these flowers are scented with a distinct honey-like aroma. Once the flowers begin blooming, it is quickly followed by blue-black berries, providing a nice colourful contrast with the flowers and foliage.
A tough and hardy shrub, it can be placed in partial shade or a fully sunny position in your garden. As a compact variety, it looks great as a low-growing ground cover or in an exposed area that could use some nice bright colour.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Mahonia thrives in shaded areas and provides year-round interest with its evergreen foliage and winter blooms.
How to Water
Mahonia plants prefer consistent moisture but do not like soggy soil. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, and mulch around the base to retain moisture.
How to Plant
Plant Mahonia in a well-draining, slightly acidic soil in a partially shaded or shaded location. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball, place the plant in, and cover with soil. Water thoroughly after planting to ensure good root establishment.
