Product description
A herbaceous perennial with pleasantly scented foliage and showy Spring flowering blooms. The Melittis ‘Royal Velvet Distinction’, is a clumping, rather compact plant with mid-green foliage and stems which are both covered in trichomes and emit a lovely fragrance. Late Spring bring whorls of Orchid-like blooms of striking purple and white which last through to the start of Summer.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Prune Melittis plants after flowering to encourage new growth and keep them compact.
How to Water
Water Melittis regularly, especially during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging. Once established, they are moderately drought-tolerant but benefit from consistent moisture. Water at the base to keep foliage dry and prevent fungal issues.
How to Plant
Plant Melittis in well-drained soil in a sunny or partly shaded location. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball and position the plant. Fill the hole with soil and water thoroughly. Space plants about 30-45cm apart for good airflow.
