Product description
A deciduous perennial fern more suited for shady areas and regions which can commonly found in areas with consistently high moisture such as near pond, streams or rivers. The Onoclea sensibilis or ‘Sensitive Fern’ is named as such due to its aversion to frost as it will quickly wither come Winter. A generally hardy shrub contrary to its name with arching, broad, light green, pinnate fronds that tend to mass and overlap to create a good spread of groundcover.
Plant in moist, well-drained soils and keep partially or fully shaded in a sheltered position. Prefers cooler soils and grows well with constantly wet soils and in areas of high moisture such as rivers, streams and ponds. Perfect for waterlogged areas of the garden or around water displays.

How to Plant
Plant Onoclea ferns in moist, rich, and well-draining soil in a shaded or partially shaded area. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, position the plant at the same depth, and backfill with soil. Space plants 60-90cm apart to allow for spreading growth.
