Product description

Passiflora Purple Haze, commonly known as Passion Flower, gives you an easy way to add a burst of colour in and around the garden. Its dark green leaves accompany a display of colourful white flowers with purple frills. The flowering period occurs in Summer, with deep red centres and a yellow-green, propeller-shaped feature sitting directly above that. This semi-evergreen provides further interest later in the year through orange-yellow fruit that can grow between September and October. Its fruits are edible when ripe, but not particularly palatable.

Lavender Lady (as it is also commonly known) is a fantastic climber, allowing you to cover up any plain or unsightly walls on show. As well as this, it is also a great form of groundcover, or for placing in borders, pots and containers. Place it in a sunny or partially shaded area of the garden, in a moist, well-drained soil. You will only need to water it when the soil is dry to touch.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a growers pot.

Instructions

Top Tip

Passiflora vines benefit from regular pruning to control growth and promote stronger blooming.

How to Water

Water Passiflora regularly, ensuring the soil is kept moist but not soggy. Avoid overwatering, as this can cause root rot. Water more frequently during hot weather, but let the soil dry slightly between waterings.

How to Plant

Plant Passiflora in well-draining soil with plenty of sunlight. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball and place the plant at soil level. Space plants 90-120cm apart to allow for growth, and provide a trellis or support for the vines to climb.
