Product description

Phormium Alison Blackman, commonly known as New Zealand Flax, is a gorgeous perennial that is best grown amongst garden borders, bedding, patios or containers. The clump-forming habit of this evergreen shrub enhances the beauty of the variegated, upright olive-green leaves, which also boasts a yellow margin around that. In July and August, this Phormium will produce delightful yellow flowers. Throughout the year, the plant will maintain colourful foliage, ensuring vibrancy in the garden for the most-part. Moist, well-drained soil and full sun or partial shade is best for growth, as well as watering it once or twice a week.

Instructions

Top Tip

Prune Phormium's dead or damaged leaves regularly to maintain a neat appearance and encourage healthy new growth.

How to Water

Water Phormium regularly, especially in dry periods, but avoid waterlogging. Ensure the soil remains moist but well-drained. Once established, Phormium is drought-tolerant and requires less frequent watering.

How to Plant

Plant Phormium in well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded location. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the root ball, place the plant in the hole, and backfill with soil. Water thoroughly after planting to help settle the soil around the roots.
