Product description

Physocarpus Diabolo is a deciduous shrub with delightful colours throughout the blooms of the plant. The colours included are of white and deep pink colour, with those mainly forming in Summertime. The lobed shape of these ensures that the deep purple coloured foliage gives a great offset for the brighter colours throughout the plant. Physocarpus should be planted in moist, well-drained soil and, in placement, you should ensure it is kept in full sunlight. The plant will take a small amount of water, with the recommended amount being an inch every week.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Physocarpus thrives in full sun or partial shade. Prune in early spring to maintain shape and encourage new growth.

How to Water

Water Physocarpus regularly, especially during dry spells, to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Once established, they are fairly drought-tolerant but still benefit from occasional deep watering.

How to Plant

Plant Physocarpus in well-drained soil with good sunlight. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball and position the plant so the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Backfill, firm the soil, and water thoroughly.
