Product description
Rocket Salad is a popular herb that is fast growing and adds an invigorating peppery flavour to salads. The leaves can also be used to jazz up pizzas, pesto and fish sauces. Cooked rocket leaves make an excellent substitute for spinach. The starry white flowers can be used to decorate salads or garnish dishes.
Harvest from the outer leaves and bear in mind that the younger the leaf, the milder the flavour will be. Once snipped for harvesting, the large lobed leaves will regrow and produce more pickings. Be careful not to pick the centre crown as this is needed for regrowth the following year.
Rocket Salad doesn’t need a huge amount of space to flourish so works well in pots and containers as well as planted out in the ground. It tolerates full sun but prefers a spot in light shade out of the hottest afternoon sun.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.
