Product description

This six pack of Salvia Vista Red bedding plants is a summer flowering favourite, producing attractive, dense, dark-red flower spikes with bracts of the same colour. This plant is one of the more decorative, tall varieties, forming compact neat mounds with ovate leaves and with excellent branching qualities. They tolerate heat exceptionally well and are in flower from June to late autumn, making them an ideal choice for planting in flower beds and borders. The Salvia Vista Red also looks striking when grown in balcony planters for extraordinary feature displays all season long.

Plant in loamy, well-drained soil and in full sun or part-shade. Feed plants regularly with a balanced fertiliser. To improve their looks and encourage better flowering, deadhead the plant by pinching off the flower spikes with spent blooms.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Deadhead bedding plants regularly to encourage continuous blooms and prevent the plants from going to seed too quickly. This keeps your garden vibrant all season long.

How to Water

Water bedding plants deeply after planting, then regularly to keep soil evenly moist, especially during dry periods. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Water in the morning to allow leaves to dry and reduce the risk of fungal diseases.

How to Plant

Choose an area of good light with well-drained soil to loosen. Mix in compost for nutrients. Space plants evenly to allow growth. Gently remove plants from their packs, place in holes at the same depth as in the container, backfill with soil, and water thoroughly.
