Product description
Skimmia japonica Obsession is a female variety of Skimmia that, in Spring, will offer gorgeous pale pink flowering to brighten up the garden in the warmer months. Then, when Winter approaches, bright red berries will become a consistent feature during those colder periods. The array of colour on offer will really pack a punch, ensuring both character and colour are added into the garden.
The positional preference of this plant is in partial shade, with full sun being avoided as it could lead to leaf damage. This Skimmia will look great in any border, display or medium sized pots. The soil should be moist and well-drained, with regular watering being required in its first year; especially in prolonged drier periods.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a grower’s pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Skimmia thrives in shaded areas and can be used as an evergreen hedge or ground cover. To promote healthy growth, prune dead or damaged stems after flowering.
How to Water
Water Skimmia regularly, especially in dry periods. Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Avoid over-watering, as Skimmia prefers slightly drier conditions once established.
How to Plant
Plant Skimmia in acidic, well-draining soil in a shaded or partially shaded location. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Space plants 60-90cm apart. Mulch around the base to retain moisture.
