Product description
Solanum Jasminoides, commonly known as Jasmine nightshade, is a beauty of certain grade. Have this semi-evergreen potato vine in your garden to add a striking enhancement in your cottage garden. It bears rich clusters of snow-white flowers with a bunch of golden stamens amid deep lush green foliage.
There is no reason to ‘not’ have this vigorous climber plant in your garden, except that it is toxic if eaten. Oh yes, these evergreen shrubs adapt well to survive even the coldest winters if planted with the right conditions.
This potato vine looks cheerful in full sun or partial shade planted in well-drained fertile soil. Add some sand at the base of the roots if the soil turns wet in winters. It will rarely demand any supplementary feeding, just add organic mulch to keep it healthy in the growing period.
You can train Jasmine Nightshade on trellis (tied up) or let them scramble through other shrubs. It will proudly extend its vines around your cottage garden or flower border and beds, but avoid planting it near pathways as it sends 1 metre long shoots inherited from its vigorous growing nature.
Pruning is required to keep the growth under control, cut back stems to avoid tangling. Enrich the landscape of your garden with Jasmine scented Solanum Album, the Jasmine Nightshade.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Instructions
Top Tip
Prune Solanum plants to promote air circulation and prevent disease. For vining varieties, provide a trellis or support to help them grow vertically.
How to Water
Water Solanum regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist, especially in hot weather. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings but avoid letting it dry out completely.
How to Plant
Plant Solanum in well-draining, fertile soil with full sun. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Space plants 30-45cm apart for bush varieties, or 90-120cm for vining types. Water well after planting.
