Product description

An evergreen climber native to western Australia known as more commonly as the ‘Bluebell Creeper’. An interesting plant which is considered half-hardy in most of the UK with long twining stems carrying narrow, lance-shaped, dark green leaves which act as a great contrasting backdrop to the pendant, sky blue flowers which appear throughout the foliage from Summer, followed by small, blue berries that last into the Autumn. A great option for conservatory and greenhouse growing or for use on pergolas and trellises.

Plant in moderately moist, well-drained soil and keep in full or partial sun. Hardy in mild areas but susceptible to cold and frost so should be provided with adequate shelter and protection. It is recommended to grow indoors under glass in colder regions. Water sparingly in Winter and avoid waterlogged locations.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a grower’s pot.

Instructions

Top Tip

Mulch around Sollya to retain moisture and protect its shallow roots. It thrives with minimal pruning and will reward you with stunning flowers.

How to Water

Water Sollya regularly, keeping the soil evenly moist, especially during hot weather. They prefer consistent moisture but can tolerate short dry periods once established. Avoid waterlogging.

How to Plant

Plant Sollya in well-draining, slightly acidic soil with partial shade or dappled sunlight. Dig a hole large enough for the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Space plants about 60cm apart to allow for spreading. Water thoroughly after planting.
