Sorrel Broadleaved is an interesting herb, which boasts a tangy citrus flavour. The lemony flavoured leaves can be used as baby leaf in salads or cooked like spinach when they are more mature. This is a hardy perennial and so can be harvested as a cut and come again crop.
Plant Sorrel Broadleaved in full sun or partial shade, in moist, well-drained soil. This herb pairs very well with meat, fish and egg dishes, or can be added to salads to add some extra zest.

Water regularly until well established. After this, ground planted sorrel is drought tolerant, but container-grown plants need to be watered more often.

In late spring or early summer, plant sorrel in the ground or in containers in moist but well-draining soil. Choose a spot in full sun or partial shade and leave around 30cm between plants.
