Product description
Thalictrum delavayi 'Decorum', also known as Chinese Meadow Rue, is a stunning herbaceous perennial that adds a soft, ethereal quality to garden borders. The plant features finely divided, fern-like foliage, which supports tall, airy stems topped with fluffy lilac-pink flowers. These cloud-like blooms appear in mid to late summer, making it an excellent choice for introducing vertical interest and lightness to shaded or woodland-style garden settings.
This plant reaches heights of up to 150 cm, with a spread of about 45 cm. It thrives in partial shade and benefits from moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Though low-maintenance, Thalictrum will appreciate regular watering, particularly during dry spells. It is ideal for cottage gardens and naturalised settings, where its delicate flowers attract pollinators and blend seamlessly with other perennials.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Thalictrum thrives in rich, slightly acidic soil. Add compost to improve soil texture and moisture retention. Regularly remove dead flowers to encourage more blooms and maintain a tidy appearance.
How to Water
Water Thalictrum regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely. Once established, it can tolerate some drought but prefers consistently moist conditions for optimal growth.
How to Plant
Choose a partially shaded spot with moist, well-draining soil. Dig a hole large enough for the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Firm gently and water thoroughly. Space plants 45-60cm apart to allow for their tall growth and airy form.
