Product description
Thyme lemon variegated is a compact evergreen perennial with tiny, narrowly-ovate green leaves variegated in cream. The foliage is highly aromatic, releasing a citrussy scent whenever it is brushed past. Small lilac-pink flowers appear in summer and last all season. These are a magnet for pollinators, attracting bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects to the garden.
Lemon thyme is a popular culinary herb that is bursting with antioxidants. It adds flavour to stews, casseroles, chutneys and stuffings as well as complementing fish and chicken dishes. It is an excellent addition to a bouquet-garni and is often used to make herbal tea.
Lemon variegated thyme is easy to grow. Once established, the plant is drought tolerant and only need to be watered during long dry spells. Thyme is an excellent choice for growing in pots and herb gardens but also works well as ground cover in rockeries and gravel gardens.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.
