The herb’s mat-forming habit makes it excellent for using as ground cover and growing in rock gardens, and foliage will release a beautiful herbal scent when stepped on or crushed. In summer, mauve-pink flowers bloom in plentiful amounts, covering the plant in a sea of colour.
Plant Thyme Minimus in well-drained chalky, loamy or sandy soil and in full sun. It also has culinary uses like other varieties of thyme, and it is particularly flavoursome when added to meat dishes.

How to Water
Water young plants regularly during their first season. Thyme is drought tolerant once established, only needing to be watered during particularly dry spells. Bear in mind that container-grown plants need to be watered more frequently.
How to Plant
Choose a warm, sheltered spot in full sun and plant thyme in well-draining soil, leaving 20-30cm between plants. In areas with heavy or clay soils, plant thyme in containers with pebbles in the bottom for drainage.
