Product description
Whitecurrant Ribes Rubrum Werdavia is a fruit plant with mid-green, deciduous leaves which grow on upright branches, accompanied by clusters of small, yellow-green flowers throughout spring. After flowering, small, round, glossy berries begin to grow which are creamy-yellow, sometimes flushed with pink, and translucent. By early summer, this fruit is ready to harvest.
Whitecurrant plants are an excellent choice for anyone who is keen on growing fruit bushes, as whitecurrants have a slightly more unique appearance in comparison with other berries. Plant Whitecurrant Werdavia in moist, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade, although fruits will grow best in a sunny position. This plant will grow well in bedding, borders or in a garden pot or container.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Prune whitecurrant plants in early spring to remove dead wood and promote new growth. This helps maintain a strong structure and encourages more fruit production.
How to Water
Water whitecurrant plants regularly, especially during dry spells, to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Water deeply at the base, avoiding wetting the leaves. Once established, they need less frequent watering, but consistent moisture supports better fruiting.
How to Plant
Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-draining, fertile soil. Dig a hole wide and deep enough for the root ball, mix in compost, and place the plant at the same depth as in the pot. Water well after planting and mulch to retain moisture and prevent weeds.
