Product description
Ficus Little Miss Figgy is a dwarf patio tree, very similar to its larger counterparts but with a much more compact size, perfect for smaller gardens. Beautiful, green lobed leaves are the focal point of this plant, perfect for adding brightness and leafy texture to the patio. In late summer, deep purple, juicy figs begin to ripen and can be picked and eaten or used in various recipes.
If the weather is mild enough, these shrubs can even produce a second crop of fruits in the spring, which can also be used to make jams, tarts and other desserts! An excellent plant with stunning, leafy foliage which grows well in containers and would also grow well in a mixed border.

Top Tip
Ficus trees benefit from light pruning in late winter or early spring to remove damaged or overcrowded branches and encourage a healthy, balanced shape. For container-grown Ficus, repot every few years to refresh the soil and manage root growth. Protect young Ficus trees from frost with a temporary fleece covering in colder regions, as they prefer warmer climates and can be susceptible to frost damage. With proper care, Ficus will reward you with lush, attractive foliage and impressive growth.
How to Water
Water Ficus deeply after planting to help it establish a strong root system. During the first year, provide regular watering, especially in dry or hot weather. Once established, Ficus trees are moderately drought-tolerant but will thrive with occasional deep watering during prolonged dry periods. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Morning or evening watering is best to reduce evaporation and ensure the roots can absorb the moisture effectively.
How to Plant
To plant Ficus trees, select a sunny to partially shaded location with well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as wide and the same depth as the root ball. Position the tree so that the top of the root ball is level with the ground surface, then backfill with soil, gently firming it down. Water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets and encourage root establishment. Mulch around the base of the tree to retain moisture and suppress weeds, leaving a small gap around the trunk to prevent rot. Space Ficus trees appropriately for their mature size, as some species can grow large and expansive.
