Product description
These Cobra Climbing French Bean seeds grow into vigorous plants producing hefty crops of tender, round, stringless beans throughout the season. They are low maintenance and easy to grow, preferring a sunny spot in moist but well-draining soil. Due to their climbing habit, these plants need a trellis, pole, or net to grow up and are well suited to growing in beds, borders, pots, and planters. In summer, mauve-purple flowers decorate the plants, making them an attractive addition to the vegetable garden.
Cobra Climbing French Beans are a fantastic source of nutrients, including vitamins A and K, as well as folic acid. They can be steamed until tender for a tasty side dish or used in soups and stews. These green beans freeze well, so don’t be daunted by the generous yield as they can be cooked as required later in the year.
Sow these French Bean seeds indoors from April to May or outside from May to June. Plant seedlings out from late May when the risk of frost has passed, allowing 20cm between plants and providing a net or trellis for the plants to climb. Harvest from July to September, picking regularly to encourage further crops.
