Product description
Boasting various shades of red, rose, maroon, blue, and white, these Double Mixed Cornflowers make a dramatic statement in beds, borders, and pots. Flowering from May all the way to September, the long-lasting blooms make them ideal for cutting and bringing indoors for a striking vase display. These Cornflowers are a magnet for bees and butterflies, enticing welcome pollinators into the garden.
Grow these hardy annuals in full sun in well-draining soil. Sow the seeds directly into the flowering site from March to May, or in a sheltered spot from late August to September for an earlier flowering period. When the seedlings are large enough, thin them out, allowing 10cm between plants for support. Avoid using fertiliser, as this can lead to more leafy growth and fewer flowers. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to promote fresh new growth and encourage a second flush.
