Product description

This hardy shrub is ideal for borders, providing changing interest through the seasons. Spring starts with pink flushed leaves changing to green and cream variegated foliage, which lasts throughout the Summer. In Autumn the leaves turn a vibrant shade of pink-purple before autumning to expose the vibrant red stems in Winter.

Cornus alba Miracle is a low maintenance shrub that is incredibly easy to look after. It is fully hardy, copes well in most soil types, doesn’t mind an exposed spot and is fairly drought tolerant. An annual prune is all that’s required to keep this shrub looking its best.

Commonly known as Dogwood, Cornus alba Miracle is most often used in borders, either as a standalone specimen or to complement a collection of garden plants. However, it also grows well in pots and containers and can be used to add colour and interest to patio areas.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a growers pot.

Instructions

Top Tip

New stems produce the best winter colour, so prune back hard in March to promote fresh new growth.

How to Water

Water young plants regularly until they are well established. After this, dogwood is drought tolerant and only needs to be watered during particularly dry spells.

How to Plant

Choose a spot in full sun or partial shade and prepare the soil by removing weeds and adding organic matter. Dig a hole twice the size of the nursery pot, ensuring the soil is moist but well-draining. Place the plant in the hole and backfill with soil and compost, firming down gently as you go. Water in well.
