Product description
For stunning colour and long-lasting blooms, you can’t go wrong with these Bishop’s Children Dahlia seeds. Lush dark bronze foliage provides a dramatic backdrop for the masses of fiery flowers that bloom all summer long. From July to October, the plant is covered with beautiful single flowers in vivid shades of red, orange, yellow, and pink.
Ideal for beds, borders, and containers, these blooms are irresistible to pollinators, enticing bees and butterflies into the garden. Growing up to 75cm and boasting strong stems, Bishop’s Children also makes an excellent cut flower for indoor vase displays.
Sow Dahlia Bishop’s Children seeds in trays from February to April and keep them in a warm spot until the seedlings are large enough to handle. Transplant into 9cm pots ready to gradually harden off and plant out in the flowering site from May, once the risk of frost has passed. Choose a spot in full sun in moist but well-draining soil and leave 45-60cm between plants. Water Dahlia plants regularly until they are firmly established and deadhead spent blooms to promote further flowering.
