Product description

This delightful mix of Excelsior Foxglove seeds is brimming with traditional country garden charm and is ideal for placing towards the back of beds and borders. Rich green foliage gives way to tall spikes covered with small, bell-shaped flowers in a variety of purple, pink, and creamy-white shades. These blooms are a magnet for pollinators, enticing bees and butterflies into the garden.

Sow Foxglove Excelsior seeds in trays from March to June and store at 15-20C. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots and acclimatise gradually before planting outside from September to October. Once the plants are settled into their growing site, flowers will appear from June to July the following year.

Choose a spot in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-draining soil and allow 60cm between plants. Water Foxgloves regularly until they are firmly established. Deadhead spent blooms to promote further flowering and prevent self-seeding. Alternatively, leave the flowerheads in place until late autumn to encourage a new flush of flowers the next year.
