Product description

Fuchsia Patio Trees are gorgeous patio trees that will show a wonderful mix of pink, white or purple colour, depending on the variety you choose. They will thrive between June and October and produce an array of standout features, including the drooping nature of their blooms that allow the plant to catch the eye of visitors or passers-by. You should position the trees in full sunlight, with partial shade helping them gain some respite from the hottest temperatures. Water them regularly in Summer so the soil remains moist and well-drained, the trees will look great as part of any border, patio or plant display, also due to the lovely, dark green foliage and effective, lollipop stem.

Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Prune Fuchsia trees in early spring to remove any dead or damaged branches and encourage bushy growth. Trim back old flowering stems to promote fresh blooms and maintain a neat shape. To enhance flowering, regularly feed your Fuchsia tree with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season, and consider overwintering them in a frost-free environment if planted in colder regions.

How to Water

Water Fuchsia trees deeply and consistently during their first year to establish a strong root system. They prefer moist but not waterlogged soil, so adjust watering based on weather conditions, increasing frequency during dry spells. Once established, they require regular watering during active growth periods, particularly in summer. Water early in the morning or late in the evening to reduce evaporation, ensuring the soil remains evenly moist but not soggy.

How to Plant

To plant Fuchsia trees, choose a sheltered spot with well-draining soil enriched with compost or organic matter. These trees thrive in partial shade but can tolerate full sun in cooler climates. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and slightly shallower than its depth, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Firmly backfill the hole with soil, water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets, and add a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, leaving a gap around the trunk.
