Product description
This mix of 3 Hydrangea Macrophylla are beautiful deciduous shrubs with bright flowers in clusters, commonly used for their ornamental value in mixed shrubs. Their rich foliage and decorative flowers make them perfect for adding a contrast in the background. There are dozens of colourful varieties of Hydrangea Macrophylla. This mix of 3 Hydrangea shrubs by Gardeners Dream is what you certainly need to make your garden look more vivid and perky.
Hydrangea Macrophylla features large and bright flat corymb with numerous flowers in pink, blue and white colours. These colours depend on the PH of the soil where low PH will produce blue flowers and a higher PH will result in more pink flowers. Hydrangea produces toothed or lobed, dark green leaves that provide a distinct contrast for other shrubs, planted in front of a mixed shrub border.
These brilliant plants will thrive in full sun or partial shade, planted in a moist soil that is well-drained. Avoid dry soil or cover the soil with a layer of organic mulch to retain moisture. fertilisers are not necessarily required if the soil is organically healthy. For poor soils, use a general-purpose fertiliser to enhance the blooming performance.
Take care while pruning Hydrangea in spring, remove dead wood only once the new growth has emerged. Deadheading the faded flowers regularly will encourage repeat blooms. Plant them in a sheltered spot protecting from cold winds that can damage the flower buds.
Hydrangea Macrophylla mix can be used in large containers or outdoors in mixed flowering shrub borders. Hydrangea plants are native to the forests in Japan, these are perfect for landscape gardens or cottage gardens.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Protect hydrangeas in winter by adding a thick layer of mulch around the base to insulate the roots. In colder climates, cover the plant with burlap or a frost blanket to shield it from freezing temperatures and harsh winds.
How to Water
Water hydrangeas deeply, keeping the soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods. Avoid overhead watering to prevent fungal issues. Water at the base early in the morning or late in the evening, and mulch to help retain moisture.
How to Plant
Choose a spot with morning sun and afternoon shade, and well-draining, moist soil. Dig a hole twice as wide and just as deep as the root ball. Place the plant, backfill with soil, firm gently, and water well. Mulch around the base to retain moisture.
