The vibrant deep pink colour is shown through the plants flowering and, when fully established, it will guarantee your garden to have a vast array of colour and an eye-catching, stylish piece due to the simple veining throughout the leaves. Lavatera should be planted in moist, well-drained soil and kept in full sun at the best of times. Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Deadhead spent flowers to prolong blooming and prune back hard in early spring to encourage healthy, vigorous growth. Lavatera thrives in full sun and well-drained soil.
How to Water
Water Lavatera regularly during its first growing season to establish roots, letting the soil dry slightly between waterings. Once established, it tolerates drought well and requires minimal watering.
How to Plant
Plant Lavatera in well-drained soil in a sunny spot. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Space multiple plants at least 90cm apart to allow for their bushy growth. Add compost to the soil for extra nutrients.
