Product description
Leptospermum 'Bianco', commonly known as the Tea tree is a hardy evergreen ornamental tree which produce upright lobed dark green leaves and foliage. During their flourishing season, look out for beautiful 10cm in width, pure white flowers with deep red centres.
Position these Tea trees in colourful borders, mixed containers, patios or small gardens for everyone to see. Plant in rich, moist and well-drained soil in a full sun location to allow the tree to flourish. This specific species can get bushy, so it is recommended to prune back towards the end of Winter / early Spring time to ensure fresh variegated growth for the following season.

Instructions
Top Tip
Prune Leptospermum lightly after flowering to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead or damaged branches to keep the plant healthy. Leptospermum can tolerate light frosts, but in harsher winters, protect the tree with fleece or mulch around its base to insulate the roots. This ensures your tree thrives year-round and produces its signature blooms.
How to Water
Leptospermum requires regular watering during its first year to establish a strong root system, especially in dry weather. Once established, it prefers moderate watering, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot. During hot or windy weather, increase watering frequency to prevent dehydration. Use rainwater if possible, as this helps maintain the soil's acidity.
How to Plant
To plant Leptospermum, select a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-draining, acidic soil. Loosen the soil and dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and slightly shallower than its depth. Position the tree so the base of the trunk is at soil level, then backfill with soil, firming gently around the roots. Water thoroughly after planting and apply a layer of organic mulch, such as bark chips, to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Keep the mulch away from the base of the plant to avoid rot.
