Product description

Lonicera Nitida, also commonly known as the ‘Lemon Beauty’, is a dense broadleaf evergreen shrub that is used for a border or hedge in outdoor gardens. This compact honeysuckle shrub grows 1 metre tall and serves year-round interest. Though its tiny cream coloured flowers are low-profile, Lemon Beauty is generally known for its beautiful foliage.

Its small oval green leaves outlined by distinctive yellow margin offer evergreen bright colour even in the winter months. It can be planted in containers, but you would not want to limit its application to indoors. Lonicera Lemon Beauty is notable for growing under various climatic conditions, be it moist and hot or cold and dry.

This evergreen shrub needs partial to full sun exposure, though if planted in the open it is prone to harm by sun. Plant in a place that offers sun in the morning and shade in afternoon.

Its bell-shaped flowers remain in pairs before they develop into purple berries that are adored by birds when ripened in the summer season. This dense fine-branching shrub will act as a highlight around the borders of your beautiful garden.

Feed it with a general-purpose light fertiliser in spring and let a healthy evergreen shrub provide embracing hedging to your green roof or garden.

Instructions

Top Tip

Prune Lonicera after flowering to maintain shape and encourage more blooms.

How to Water

Water Lonicera regularly, especially during dry spells, to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Once established, it can tolerate periods of drought.

How to Plant

Plant Lonicera in well-draining soil, preferably in full sun or partial shade. Dig a hole that is twice the size of the root ball, place the plant in the hole, and backfill with soil. Water thoroughly to settle the roots.
