Product description

Orchid Phalaenopsis Liberty White, also known as a variety of Moth Orchid, is a stunning indoor plant. It features large, waxy, green leaves at the base, with elegant stems bearing pristine white blooms. This orchid can flower at any time of the year, and the flowers can last up to three months, adding lasting beauty to your home.

This orchid thrives best indoors in a warm, bright spot. It is simple to care for, as long as it is not overwatered; letting the potting medium dry slightly between waterings is crucial. Pruning the stems after flowering helps maintain plant health and encourages new blooming cycles.

They offer an elegant, ornamental touch that suits various decor styles and are also perfect as thoughtful gifts, providing a long-lasting alternative to traditional flower bouquets.

Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Feed your orchid with a balanced liquid fertiliser diluted to half strength every two weeks during the growing season. Prune faded flower spikes just above a visible node to encourage a second bloom. Orchids thrive in a stable environment, so avoid placing them near drafts, radiators, or direct sunlight to keep them healthy and flowering for longer.

How to Water

Water orchids sparingly, allowing the compost to dry out slightly between waterings. Most orchids thrive on a once-weekly watering schedule, but adjust based on the room temperature and humidity. Use tepid rainwater or distilled water to avoid mineral buildup, as tap water can harm the roots. Avoid soaking the crown of the plant, as this can lead to rot. Always ensure the pot drains well to prevent waterlogging.

How to Plant

To plant orchids, select a shallow pot with excellent drainage and use a specialised orchid compost made of bark or moss to allow airflow around the roots. Gently remove the orchid from its original pot and place it in the new container, ensuring the roots are not overcrowded and the base of the plant is above the compost. Avoid covering the base of the plant with soil. Water lightly after planting to settle the roots and position the pot in bright, indirect sunlight for optimal growth.
