Product description
Oregano Greek has a strong, aromatic flavour that is widely used in Greek and Italian cooking. It is bursting with antioxidants and complements lamb, cheese, and tomato-based dishes particularly well.
This hardy perennial has a compact, bushy growing habit with stems bearing small, oval, dark green leaves. In summer, small clusters of white flowers emerge. However, removing the flower stems prevents the plant from going to seed and prolongs the harvesting period.
Grow Oregano Greek in full sun or partial shade in fertile, well-draining soil. Cut the plant back in autumn, ready for the new foliage to emerge the following spring. This is a low-maintenance herb that is easy to grow in the garden or on a bright windowsill.
Sow Greek Oregano seeds indoors throughout the year or outdoors from April to May. Plant out from May to June, allowing 30cm between plants. Harvest from January to December.
