Product description
Pieris japonica Passion is an evergreen shrub with lovely dark green foliage that shows hints of red throughout Spring. The leaves are evergreen, providing year-round interest, whilst its urn-shaped flowers bloom in Spring with nice pink and white colour. This is a compact plant that will look great almost anywhere in and around your garden, whether that be within a border, pot, container or sitting pride of place on a patio or porch display.
With it being a smaller variety, it is a pleasure for any level of plant enthusiast to grow. It is also low maintenance, being able to cope well in any sunny or partially shaded area of the garden, tolerating most soil types that are moist and well drained. You should then only need to water it when the soil is dry to touch.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Pieris thrives in acidic soil and partial shade, so avoid planting in full sun or alkaline soil for best results.
How to Water
Water Pieris plants regularly, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged. During hot months, ensure the soil doesn't dry out, but avoid overwatering. Reduce watering once the plant is established.
How to Plant
Plant Pieris in well-drained, acidic soil with good organic matter. Choose a partially shaded spot and dig a hole twice the size of the root ball. Place the plant in the hole with the top of the root ball level with the surrounding soil and backfill with soil.
