Product description
The “Repens” is a hardy evergreen shrub. As its tendency is to spread, it makes an excellent groundcover plant. It prefers the full sun and will reward you with amazing clusters of small, lavender-blue buds at the ends of the panicles throughout the plant. These flowers will persist throughout the spring and summer seasons.
It has glossy, deep-green leaves that are oval in shape. Although the plants are hardy, they have a shorter lifespan. To aid their longevity, prune regularly after flowering to encourage new growth and increase flowering in the following season.
They prefer soils that drain well and can tolerate some dryness, but will need to be regularly watered in dry spells. In addition, these plants prefer to be in more sheltered areas in your garden away from cold, drying winds.
They can do very well in wall-side borders and sheltered garden areas, like in a courtyard or along the fringes of a wildlife garden or cottage garden. However, it is important to remember that they are spreaders, so in order to get their full beauty, be prepared to help train them vertically or allow for sufficient space around the plant in order for it to reach its fullest growth.
Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

How to Water
Water regularly during the first few growing seasons. After this, ceanothus is drought tolerant and only needs to be watered during particularly dry spells. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings.
How to Plant
Choose a sheltered spot out of strong winds and plant ceanothus in full sun in well-draining soil. Dig a hole around twice as wide as the root ball and position the plant so the top of the root ball is at soil level. Backfill with soil and compost, gently firm down, and water in well.
