Product description
Coffea Arabica is better known as the Arabian Coffee plant. This baby plant is a quirky addition to your collection and is simple to look after, even by novice plant parents. Coffea Arabica is often said to symbolise ‘a helping hand in time of need’ and makes a thoughtful gift for friends and family - even those who aren’t coffee lovers.
Multiple stems support glossy green leaves that are oval in shape and elegant in style. When the plant reaches maturity it may blossom clusters of white flowers that turn into berries as the seasons progress. These berries ripen into seeds, each containing 2 coffee beans. While the flowers are fragrant, the coffee smell we all know and love comes from the act of roasting the beans, so your plant will have a much more delicate scent.
Look after your Coffea Arabica well and in around 4 years you might even be able to make a cup of coffee from your very own homegrown beans!
Growing your Coffea Arabica from its baby stage and watching it mature over time, from a tiny leafy stem to a healthy, fully grown plant is a delight to witness.
It’s not unusual to give your plant a name… so don’t hesitate to choose one that you think suits the plant! Try naming your plant with the first name or word that you think of when you look at it - that’s how we ended up with an orchid named Clover and spider plant called Joseph.
House Plant Size Guide
House plants come in a wide array of shapes and sizes depending on the variety and maturity of the plant.
6cm/12cm/15cm/19cm/23cm nursery pots are the most common size of pot that they are sold in. This measurement is the diameter at the top of the pot.
12cm potted plants are the most popular providing great value for money and an instant impact. Larger plants that come in pots of 20cm+ are great for making a statement in any room and can represent years of growth to get to that level of maturity and size.

Top Tip
To mimic the Coffea plant’s natural tropical environment, maintain high humidity levels by misting the leaves or placing a tray of water nearby. Clean the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to remove dust and enhance their glossy appearance. Rotate the pot every few weeks for even growth, and feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertiliser during the growing season to support its lush, green foliage.
How to Water
Water Coffea regularly to keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings to prevent overwatering. During the growing season, water weekly, adjusting the frequency based on your indoor conditions, and reduce watering in winter when growth slows. Use filtered or rainwater when possible, as Coffea plants prefer water with low mineral content to maintain vibrant foliage.
How to Plant
To plant Coffea, use a pot with good drainage and fill it with a nutrient-rich, well-draining potting mix, ideally one formulated for tropical plants. Remove the plant gently from its container, loosening the roots slightly, and position it so the root ball sits level with the soil surface. Backfill with soil, firm gently, and water thoroughly to settle. Place the plant in a location with bright, indirect light and consistent warmth to encourage healthy growth.
