The Cotoneaster x watereri has an open habit and in Autumn its arching branches are home to red berries. Bird are often attracted to this tree due to berries, as well as attracting butterflies and bees in the Summer months as a result of the large floral display of white flowers.
Semi-evergreen means that the leaves will fall only in the harshest of winters, so you can expect the tree to retain most of its green leaves throughout the year.
This small ornamental tree is fully hardy and will thrive in full sun or partial shade. It prefers well drained, moderately fertile soil. The tree does require heavy or regular pruning but can be pruned to remove wayward branches or reduce the size of the plant if needed.

How to Water

Once established, these trees are drought-tolerant and only require occasional watering during prolonged dry spells. How to Plant
To plant Cotoneaster, choose a sunny or partially shaded location with well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and of equal depth.
