Product description

Cytisus Apricot Gem is a semi-evergreen shrub that will add a vibrancy through the orange-yellow colour in the plants flowers once Spring and Summer come around. The dark green foliage is the feature that brings out that bright colour, largely due to the darker shade of green that the foliage possesses throughout. Cytisus should be planted in moist, well-drained soil and kept in full sun at the best of times. This shrub should be watered once a week to ensure that the plant can continue thriving and producing the colour it can provide. Avoid waterlogging it at any point, though as this will cause unnecessary damage.

Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.

Instructions

Top Tip

Cytisus thrives in poor, well-drained soil and requires minimal fertilization. Avoid heavy pruning, as it may reduce flowering.

How to Water

Water Cytisus plants regularly during dry periods but avoid overwatering. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings, as these plants are drought-tolerant once established. Water at the base to keep the foliage dry.

How to Plant

Plant Cytisus in well-draining, sandy or loamy soil. Choose a sunny spot with good air circulation. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch to retain moisture.
