Product description

This deciduous shrub boasts erect shoots of small palmate leaves in a dark green hue. These are beautifully complemented by colourful flowers in Spring. The blooms blend from reddish-pink to orangey-yellow, creating a distinctive effect that works well in most styles of garden.

Also known as Broom, Cytisus La Coquette is ideal for planting in borders or towards the back of flower beds. It also grows well in containers, where it can be used to brighten up patios and balconies.

Cytisus La Coquette is relatively hardy and drought resistant, so doesn’t require much maintenance to look its best. It flourishes in a south or west-facing spot where it can soak up the sun’s rays all day long.

Instructions

Top Tip

Cytisus thrives in poor, well-drained soil and requires minimal fertilization. Avoid heavy pruning, as it may reduce flowering.

How to Water

Water Cytisus plants regularly during dry periods but avoid overwatering. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings, as these plants are drought-tolerant once established. Water at the base to keep the foliage dry.

How to Plant

Plant Cytisus in well-draining, sandy or loamy soil. Choose a sunny spot with good air circulation. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch to retain moisture.
