Product description
Garcua is an easy to grow garlic variety that produces a plentiful yield of large, globe-shaped, soft neck garlic bulbs in summer. Boasting well-formed, creamy-white cloves, these bulbs have a strong flavour that enriches culinary dishes. Once harvested, Garcua stores well and can be kept for up to a year before use.
Choose a sunny spot in well-drained, fertile soil and plant the bulbs around 3cm deep, leaving 10cm between plants. Garcua is a hardy garlic variety and copes well with frosty temperatures. It can be planted in autumn or early spring and is suitable for growing in pots and containers. Garlic is a great crop for deterring common garden pests, helping other plants in the vegetable garden to thrive.
When the leaves die down in mid-summer, gently pull out the garlic bulbs and leave them on a flat surface to ripen and dry out. Use the cloves fresh or store the bulbs in a light, dry, airy place and eat within a year of harvesting.
