Product description
Muscari Peppermint is a distinct newer varietal of perennial flowering ornamental plant with stems or spikes of racemes of densely packed bi-coloured blooms. Urn-shaped flowerheads with the top of the raceme loaded with pale white blooms on the crown and the lower portion is packed with pale blue flowerheads edged in white. Accompanied by narrow, strap-like green leaves.
Pleasantly perfumed and bi-coloured, Muscari Peppermint is easy to grow and is a delight for gardeners and pollinators alike in the spring season with lovely fragrant flowers. Plant in groups for blankets of blooms creating a dazzling effect. Great to use at the front of beds or border or in pots, containers, in rockeries and for underplanting around trees and shrubs.
Muscari are commonly known as Grape Hyacinth and it is easy to see why from their spikes of densely packed flowerheads which resemble bunches of grapes, although they are notably not Hyacinths. Muscari typically grow within the height range of 15-20cm, making them delightful accents in beds and borders. Hardy plants that are tolerant of extreme weather, Muscari can overwinter in most environments with ease.
Low-maintenance, Muscari are a bulbous perennial which is easy to grow and naturalises well, especially at the edges of a yard or in woodland areas. Companion plant with tulips and daffodils for vibrant colour contrasts.
Muscari should be planted in fertile, well-drained soils in mostly sunny areas and are tolerant of some shade. Plant Muscari approximately 3 times the height of the bulb or about 5-10cm deep and about 5-8cm apart for beds. Muscari are generally shorter plants of about 15-20cm and make great plant for underplanting with taller blooming plants or use in pots and containers for accents to use around patios and walkway areas.
Many Muscari varieties are fragrant and will attract pollinators like birds, bees and butterflies. Muscari typically bloom in the mid to late spring season but can also be some of the earliest blooms of the spring season. In colder climates, mulching is recommended in order to protect that plants from the harsh cold. Planting is recommended from mid-summer to mid-autumn.

Top Tip
Plant Muscari bulbs in clusters for a dense, vibrant display, and leave foliage to die back naturally for better blooms next year.
How to Water
Water after planting to help bulbs establish. During active growth in spring, keep the soil evenly moist but avoid waterlogging. Reduce watering once the foliage begins to yellow and the plant enters dormancy.
How to Plant
Plant Muscari bulbs in well-draining soil during autumn. Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot, and plant bulbs 5-8cm deep with the pointed side up, spacing them 5cm apart. Cover with soil, press gently, and water thoroughly to settle the soil.
