To top it all off, the dark green foliage of the plant is evergreen, so that colour will remain throughout the year. Cistus should be planted in moist, well-drained soil and placement should see it kept in full sun at the best of times. How to Water
Water regularly throughout the first growing season until fully established. After this, cistus is drought tolerant and only needs to be watered during particularly dry spells.
How to Plant
Plant cistus in a warm, sheltered, sunny spot in light, well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice as big as the nursery pot and position the plant so the top of the root ball is at soil level. Backfill the hole with soil and compost, firm down gently, and water in well.
