Product description
Cyclamen coum is a highly resilient woodland tuber that serves as an ecologically critical lifeline, producing stunning bright magenta-pink flowers straight through the ice and snow to feed starving queen bees. It features beautiful, low-growing rounded leaves heavily mottled with intricate silver and pewter patterns, providing phenomenal ground cover during the colder months before disappearing entirely.
It is genetically wired for deep, cool shade and looks absolute best planted in sweeping drifts in soil heavily amended with rich, broken-down leaf mould. You must keep the earth consistently moist while it is actively growing and blooming. However, the exact moment the foliage goes completely dormant and vanishes in the summer, you must stop watering entirely, or the sleeping tuber will rapidly rot into a black, soggy mush.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
The best way to use Cyclamen coum is to plant it in sweeping drifts directly beneath the canopy of large deciduous trees. This guarantees the tubers get the vital light they need before the massive tree leaves return to plunge them into deep shade. Avoid digging around the resting area while the plant is dormant so you do not accidentally slice it with a trowel.
How to Water
Give the soil a light, gentle soak after planting to help Cyclamen coum settle into its cool, dappled environment. You must keep the earth consistently moist while it is actively growing and blooming through the colder months. However, the moment the foliage goes completely dormant, you must stop watering entirely to prevent the tuber from rotting.
How to Plant
Settle the tiny tuber of Cyclamen coum just beneath the surface in a deeply shaded, woodland-style bed. Amend the dirt heavily with rich, broken-down leaf mould to mimic the natural forest floor it actively craves. Ensure you plant it with the smooth, rounded side facing strictly downward and the slightly concave, knobbly side facing the sky.
