Product description

Juniperus Gold Coast is a very hardy, evergreen, low-growing shrub with green-yellow foliage and golden yellow shoot tips. This elegant shrub will certainly bring a splash of colour to the garden and has stunning golden foliage which retains its colour nicely throughout winter. It has a neat mounding habit and is easily accommodated in borders and rockeries or as a specimen shrub too. It is often used as part of a low hedge, a barrier on its own or in a group with other evergreens. This highly resistant plant with a life expectancy of up to 30 years, will even put up with urban pollution, making it an excellent choice for inner city planting locations.

Although this Juniper is tolerant of a wide variety of soils including clay, plant in well-drained soil and in full sun. It has quite a spreading habit and can even be snipped into topiary but will have to be pruned several times per year to help keep its shape.

Instructions

Top Tip

Avoid overwatering Juniperus, as they thrive in dry conditions. Prune lightly to maintain shape but avoid heavy pruning, as they don't recover well from it.

How to Water

Water Juniperus deeply after planting and regularly during the first growing season to establish roots. Once established, they are drought-tolerant and only need occasional watering during prolonged dry periods.

How to Plant

Plant Juniperus in well-drained soil and a location with full sun. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and as deep as its height. Place the plant, backfill with soil, and water thoroughly. Space plants adequately for air circulation, especially for spreading varieties.
